I grew up in Lewisham, I live in Lewisham, and I am immensely proud to be Headteacher in a Lewisham school serving the community that I have grown up within.

As number 2 out of 6 siblings, growing up in our vibrant and lively Irish Catholic / Turkish Cypriot family, I quickly had to become responsible and spent much time looking after my younger siblings, this is where I probably developed a love and passion for helping others.

At school my Art teacher was also my tutor and she inspired me an incredible amount. It is her input that motivated me to train to teach Art. I am still as passionate about the importance of a strong arts education for all as I was the day I started teaching almost 30 years ago.

I spend my spare time with my huge extended family, reading, or at the gym or else making the very most of the wonderful cultural opportunities that London has to offer.

Our staff team here at DG are exceptional and I am very lucky to work with so many talented people.
