The students have worked really hard on preparing for this, and we have been lucky enough to have students volunteering not only to act as speakers in the debate, but an additional set of students who have acted as researchers for the topic!

In English this half-term, we are also focusing on speeches, getting our students prepared for the Speaking and Listening components of their GCSEs. We hope to start building a really strong culture of speech-making across the school, so we are launching Spring Speeches, an initiative in which each spring term, students will get an opportunity to showcase their voices and opinions!
