Y10 Textiles Visits to Goldmsiths CCA & The Fashion and Textiles Museum, London
The year 10 Textiles students visited two exhibitions on Wednesday 9th of November.
The first exhibition was located on the campus of Goldsmiths, University of London at the Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) which is London’s newest contemporary arts institution.
Here the students had a private tour by the curator of the Goldsmiths CCA which was exhibiting the work of Cinzia Ruggeri (1942–2019). Cinzia is the first major retrospective artist and fashion designer, a unique figure of Italian postmodernism who moved freely across artistic disciplines.
This exhibition and tour enabled the students to access, see and experience everything from art, sculpture, textiles, design and more. Following this exhibition, the students went to The Fashion and Textiles Museum in London where they were able to observe the work of Kaffe Fassett who is one of the most successful artists and designers working in contemporary craft today.
