"As a parent governor, my role is to help the governing board understand the parents’ and carers’ perspectives so that good relations between the board and the school community are maintained.

Deptford Green was the first choice secondary school for our daughter because of its enabling philosophy, comprehensive values and vibrant creative ethos. I grew up on the estate opposite the school and I’m passionate about helping young people from all backgrounds achieve their potential. I am committed to helping the school in their efforts to enable pupils to not only reach, but also exceed their goals, and to access worlds that are often seen as privileged and closed.

I’ve worked in the creative industries for over twenty-five years, as a television producer/ director specialising in documentaries and as a writer. In addition to creative challenges, my work included managing big budgets, difficult schedules and the safeguarding of contributors. I’m very used to asking probing questions, as well as rolling my sleeves up and getting involved."
